About the Delaware ACDA Children's Honor Choir Festival
AllThe 2020 Delaware ACDA Children’s Honor Choir Festival will be held on March 13 & 14, 2020 at Newark High School. Our guest conductor this year will be Christy Elsner, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City. She is an active clinician for children’s, youth, and treble choirs, frequently gives workshops on innovative rehearsing and has conducted many state, regional, and national honor choirs.
All choir members in grades 4-6 are invited to audition at school to be a part of this festive weekend for treble voices. Each attending school is only allowed to send 14 students to the event. Participants need to pay a nonrefundable $45 registration fee. These fees include; lunch, snacks and drinks for singers on Saturday, an Honor Choir t-shirt to be worn for the concert, octavos, and a practice recording (music/recordings will be sent to the director for distribution). Please note that attendance is required at ALL rehearsals on Friday and Saturday.

Audition Information
Audition Dates: January 8th/January 9th
Audition Time: Use the sign up genius below to sign up for an audition time
*Auditions will be done individually (i.e. other students will not be present)
Students should learn the song 'Where is love' from the musical "Oliver". Students should use the sheet music provided in and practice by using the 'Where is Love' (practice track) located below. Students may also practice using the Where is Love (Accompaniment) which will be used for the audition.
Students do not need to memorize the song and can use the lyrics for their scheduled audition. Students will need to be able to sing the song using the 'How Can I Keep From Singing' accompaniment track to demonstrate that they can sing the song without assistance. Students will be evaluated using the rubric provided below.
